Fluor’s Taco de Haan Appointed CEO of Stork
Taco de Haan has been appointed CEO of Stork, a Fluor company. De Haan succeeds Arnold Steenbakker, who has elected to step down effective January 1, 2017. De Haan will report to David Seaton, chairman and CEO of Fluor Corporation.
During the transition period, de Haan and Steenbakker will work together to ensure seamless progress on the combination of Stork and Fluor’s Operations & Maintenance business. Fluor acquired Stork on March 1, 2016.
“I want to thank Arnold for his leadership in transforming Stork into a leading global provider of maintenance, modification and asset integrity services (MM&AI), as well as through the acquisition process,” says David Seaton. “We are already seeing opportunities through numerous joint pursuits which we would not have had as stand-alone companies. Taco has demonstrated relevant expertise through leading Fluor’s Operations & Maintenance business. I am confident that under his leadership Stork will continue to grow as a leader in MM&AI, which is a key component of Fluor’s integrated solutions.”
Steenbakker served as CEO of Stork since 2013. His 33 years in the oil and gas industry included 22 years at Fluor in engineering, project management and executive management roles.
De Haan is currently president of Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business line for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Since joining Fluor in 1995, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, project management, site management, office general management and regional executive management. Prior to his current position, he led Fluor’s Operations & Maintenance international business for six years. De Haan will be based at Stork’s headquarters in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Henk Rottinghuis, member of the Stork Supervisory Board said: ‘We are very grateful to Arnold for his efforts over the past years. Together with Pim Oomens and the management team he has implemented various key initiatives that have improved Stork’s competitiveness and market position. We will be able to ensure a smooth transition at a logical moment since Arnold will remain with the company for the remainder of the year.”
Stork’s Central Works Council in the Netherlands has been consulted and supports de Haan’s appointment.
